Awana News!
Awana meetings will resume on Wednesday, September 3. Hope to see you there! Awana meetings provide consistent positive teaching each week that stresses strong moral and spiritual values while emphasizing memorization and understanding of Scripture. Awana meets Wednesday nights from September – May at 6:20 P.M.

Congregational Meeting/Promotion Sunday
There will be a congregational meeting on Sunday, September 7 at 9:30 A.M. for the purpose of electing church officers, Awana workers, and Sunday School teachers for 2014-2015. Promotion Sunday will also be held that day.

Missionary Speaking
Missionary Cary Clifton will be speaking during our Sunday School time on Sunday, August 31. All adult SS classes will meet in the auditorium.

Car Seat Needed
Tommy and Mary Jerkovic, former interns, will be visiting us from September 12 – 27 and they are bringing their two daughters. The church already has a car seat suitable for 3 year old Hannah, but we will need one for Deborah, age 1, who weighs 22 lbs. If you have a suitable seat for her, and would be willing to loan it to us for that 2 week period, please call the church office at 628.2400.

Ladies Bible Study
There will be a new Bible study beginning September 4th! Ladies of all ages are welcome to this 9 week study of 1 & 2 Thessalonians led by Beth Moore. Meetings will be each Thursday, either at 10 A.M. or 7 P.M. at the home of Laura Moore. Come join us! Contact Laura if you have questions or plan to come. Workbooks are $15.

The MOPS (Mothers of Pre-schoolers) group will begin meeting again this fall! Meetings will be held the first Wednesday of each month from September – May. If you are interested in serving or are a mom of a pre-schooler and want more information about joining, call the church office at 628.2400.

Ice Cream Sundae & Prayer Night
When: August 24 at 6 P.M.
Where: Abingdon Bible Church Gym
What: We’ll have ice cream, a devotional, and a time of prayer for the kids as they start the new school year. Please bring a topping to share. For more information, see Kim Barlow.

Wednesday Family Nights
Make your plans to attend Wednesday Family Nights which will begin on the first Wednesday after Labor Day, Sept. 3. Supper will be served from 5:15 P.M. – 6 P.M. Meal cost is still to be determined. Announcements and Awana circle will begin at 6:20 P.M. Awana handbook time will follow from 6:25 P.M. – 6:55 P.M. All adults are encouraged to assist in listening to verses. The adult Prayer Meeting and Bible study will meet 7 P.M. – 8:15 P.M. in the senior adult classroom.

Crosswalk for 6th – 12th grade will meet in the new youth room on Wednesdays led by Steven Bednar and Kevin Burrill. The service will begin a month early on Wednesday, August 6 with a cookout and service beginning at 6 P.M.

Living Proof Live Simulcast
Central Christian Church in Bristol, TN is hosting a Beth Moore Living Proof Live Simulcast on Saturday, September 13, 2014. If anyone is interested in going you can register online at The cost will be $20 and the fee includes simulcast, listening guide and lunch. Lunch will be a sub sandwich, two sides, chips, dessert and a beverage. There will also be door prizes. Please contact Kim Barlow.
