SouperBowl of Caring!
February 1 is Super Bowl Sunday. The Super Bowl game gives opportunity to make a difference for those who are hungry and hurting in our community. Faith In Action asks you to join in the nation’s largest celebration of giving and serving by bringing non-perishable canned foods to church or to the Stone Soup Food Pantry at 798 Hillman Highway. Donations are accepted now through Super Bowl Sunday. Be part of this movement for those in need!
Operation Sweetheart 2015
We are in need of families to deliver and visit some of our shut-ins for Valentine’s Day. On the table in the foyer next to the Welcome Center, there’s a table with candy, Valentine cards, and a sheet with the names of those who are unable to attend church. Please sign your name next to the folks you would like to visit, take a box of candy, and some homemade Valentine cards. Please contact those you are visiting, and enjoy your time with them. Please plan on visiting them the week of Valentine’s Day or on Valentine’s Day. Thank you for your help! Contact Kim Barlow if you have any questions or for more information.
New Adult Wednesday Night Study
“Israel in Bible Times and Today” will be the topic of the new adult Wednesday night study beginning Wednesday, January 28. We will begin our study with an overview of the holy land. Then our focus will narrow to Jerusalem as we prepare for Palm Sunday and Easter (which is just ten weeks from today). As time permits, we will also look at Galilee, Judea, the Negev, and Samaria. Scripture is full of references to locations and events in Israel. Your understanding of the Bible will grow as you learn more about the history and geography of Israel. Supper in the gym is 5:30 P.M. – 6:15 P.M, prayer time in the auditorium begins at 6:30 P.M, and the study starts at 7:00 PM.
Wednesday Night Dinner Menu
Jan. 28 – Baked potato bar, chili, salad, & dessert
Feb. 4 – Chicken nuggets, mac & cheese, soup, & dessert

Requesting Military Addresses
The residents of The Grand Court community are searching for names and addresses of deployed service members from our area who they can participate with in a pen pal program. They would also like to have the names and addresses of military families who are separated from their loved ones, who they could include in their written contacts. This will be an ongoing program throughout the year for the residents. If you have names and addresses you’d like to share or for more information, contact Janice Simmons at 669.1111 or at email@example.com.
Men’s Ski Trip
Any men who love to ski or enjoy getting to fellowship and worship with brothers in Christ should consider coming on the Men’s Ski Trip to Snowshoe, WV. The trip is scheduled for Jan 25 – 28, 2015.
