Bible Study Fellowship
Coming in the fall of 2015, Bible Study Fellowship’s newest study will explore the revelation of Jesus Christ and the glorious consummation of His kingdom, the book of Revelation. Men may register for the fall class each Thursday from April 2 – April 30 at 6:50 P.M. Registration is held at Pleasant View United Methodist Church at the west entry. There is never a charge for BSF classes. Men can enter the study at any time, but for planning purposes they prefer you pre-register. Presently in Abingdon, there are 33 men from 14 different churches participating in BSF. For questions or more information, contact Larry Bays, Paul Quetsch, or visit www.bsfinternational.org.
Youth Paintball Activity
There will be a Youth Paintball Activity at Paintball XS in Bluff City, TN on Saturday, May 16. We will leave the church at noon and return around 5:30 P.M. The cost will be $20 per person. Sign up and turn in your payment and waiver form (available from pastor Kevin or on the youth bulletin board) by Sunday, May 10th. Important note about attire – Wear long pants and long sleeves (layer up to lessen impact if desired). Sandals are not permitted. Running shoes or boots are required to help run. Goggles/helmets/jerseys are provided by Paintball XS. Parents, if you can help drive, speak with Pastor Kevin (limited seating is available for parents to watch outside the protective netting of the arena).
Do You Believe?
“Do You Believe” is now playing in theaters. When a local pastor is shaken to the core by the visible faith of an old street-corner preacher, he is reminded that true belief always requires action. His response ignites a faith-fueled journey that powerfully impacts everyone it touches in ways that only God could orchestrate. From the creators of “God’s Not Dead” this is more than a movie – it’s the question we all must answer in our lifetimes: Do you believe?
Mark Your Calendars!
VBS is scheduled for July 12 – 16!
Requesting Military Addresses
The residents of The Grand Court community are searching for names and addresses of deployed service members from our area who they can participate with in a pen pal program. They would also like to have the names and addresses of military families who are separated from their loved ones, who they could include in their written contacts. This will be an ongoing program throughout the year for the residents. If you have names and addresses you’d like to share or for more information, contact Janice Simmons at 669.1111 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
