Men’s Ski Trip
Any men who love to ski or enjoy getting to fellowship and worship with brothers in Christ should consider coming on the Men’s Ski Trip to Snowshoe, WV. The trip is scheduled for Jan 25 – 28, 2015. The exact cost is to be determined, but we anticipate the cost of the trip to be in the range of $160 – $210 which will include 3 nights of lodging, plus food. You will need to arrange for your own ski equipment. Transportation will be via carpool. If you are interested or would like more details, please contact Jeff Smith or Dana Smith before December 1 if you have any interest in going.
Please join us on December 13 at 6 P.M. at Brooke Bednar’s home for our annual scarf exchange. Please bring one dressy or casual scarf and an appetizer to share. We will also be doing a Christmas craft. RSVP to Kim Barlow. Hope to see you!
Volunteers are needed to help with closing the building after services on Sunday mornings. This duty helps our church staff greatly and allows them ot concentrate on their other obligations on Sundays. Please call Kisha in the church office at 628.2400 if you are willing to help.
Food Pantry Teams
Abingdon Bible Church is scheduled to volunteer in the Faith In Action Food Pantry December 8 – 12. A sign-up sheet is available in the foyer for dates and times and to sign up to volunteer. For more information, contact Herman Snead or call the church office at 628.2400. We also want to encourage everyone to bring food to donate to the pantry….bins are in the foyer.
A special called congregational meeting will be held following the worship service on Sunday morning, December 7, 2014. The purpose of the meeting will be to elect David Bolinger as a deacon and to advise the congregation of a church discipline matter. The regular congregational meeting to approve the 2015 budget will be held following the worship service on Sunday morning, January 25, 2015. The date of the presentation of the budget prior to the congregation meeting is TBD.
Beautiful Beginnings Women’s Conference
Ladies! Sign up now for a time of spiritiual refreshment, encouragement, and laughter at the Beautiful Beginnings Conference. Author, speaker, and life coach Sheri Rose Shepherd will be coming to the Southwest VA Higher Ed Center on Saturday, January 10. The conference is from 8:30 A.M. – 2 P.M. and breakfast and lunch will be provided. Group registration is $20 (checks payable to Rosedale Baptist). If we have 5 ladies or more, we can sit as a group. Group registration ends December 14. For individual registration, visti www.rbcabingdon.org. If space is still available, tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the event for $25. Johann Gous Speaking
Johann Gous, President of Hope Builders Ministries, will be speaking in our worship service this morning. We will be taking an offering for Bibles for Believers. Ministries serviced by Hope Builders have 6,400 pastors and leaders enrolled in a three-year-diploma training program that focuses on teaching “multiplying ministry” principles. As part of encouraging local pastors and churches, Johan has led 15 short-term mission trips to several African countries, introducing over 300 Americans to the Ministry work.
He became President of Hope Builders in 2010 after being CEO of the Africa Division since 2001.
Combined Adult Sunday School
There will be a combined adult SS class in the auditorium on Sunday, November 30. Dalmiro and Laura Boyce Ortiz will be speaking.
Lend A Helping Can!
The Awana program, Lend a Helping Can, collected 603 cans of food to help Faith In Action! The goal was 500. Thank you to everyone who donated. What a great way to extend the love of Christ in our community!
Evaluations for Upward Basketball will be held Tuesday, December 2 and Thursday, December 4 from 6 – 8 P.M. and Saturday, December 6 from 9 – 11 A.M. This is the first step in signing up and is available for all kids between K – 5th grade. The evaluations only take 15 minutes so pick a time convenient for your family and get ready for an exciting season! Additionally we love to have you volunteer with us, even if it is only for one Saturday – we need refereees, coaches, and score board operators. Church Office Closed
The church office will be closed on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Winter isn’t far off! Haven of Rest Rescue Mission hopes that you can assist them in helping others. Items needed are chicken noodle soup, socks, scarves, gloves, coats, sleeping bags, etc. They also need items on a recurring basis – paper towels, toilet paper, Kleenex, paper plates, trash bags, bedding and towls, copy paper, etc. Donations can be made at the main office at 624 Anderson St, Bristol TN.
